Make Mom’s Day with a DIY Rustic Flower Vase!

Rustic chic is all the rage these days. And luckily for all the DIY-ers out there, this style is perfect for crafting! Whether you’re an adult trying to whip up something handmade for Mom or looking for an easy craft your kids can make and feel extra-good about, you can’t go wrong with an intentionally rustic project—like this mason jar vase!
You only need a handful of supplies and about 20 minutes to create a sweet decoration that your mom will love putting on display.
Mason Jar Flower Vase
· Twine
· Rustic gift tag (or brown paper to make your own)
· Optional: chalk paint
Instructions
1. If desired, give your mason jar a light coat of chalk paint in white or your Mom’s favorite color for an extra touch of “farmhouse flair.” Allow to dry completely.
2. Wrap the middle of your mason jar with a strip of burlap ribbon and secure it with hot glue. You can tie it into a bow for extra style, or simply make a single strip around.
3. Take your gift tag and write a special message to mom.
4. Cut a length of twine about 30 inches long, and thread it through the hole of the gift tag.
5. If you tie a bow with your burlap, wrap the twine around the mouth of the mason jar. If you went with a simple strip of burlap, wrap the twine several times around the burlap and finish it with a bow.
6. Cut down your flower stems to fit just above the rim of the jar.
7. Arrange the faux flowers in the jar to look full and lush.
Bonus idea: Create three or more mason jar vases to make a little “garden” arrangement for Mom that will look great on a windowsill or as a table centerpiece! This is a great option for families with multiple children who all want to contribute something special.
And just like that, you have a sweet and chic rustic vase that makes a perfect present. Don’t be afraid to embellish and personalize your vases even further with buttons, letter charms, or even colored pebbles that will make them extra unique!
