For many children, the Easter Egg hunt is the highlight of every Easter morning! There’s so much excitement in running around the fresh spring air, competing to find the most eggs, and enjoying their prizes.

But if you want to take things up just a notch this year, why not turn that annual egg hunt into a party? Your kids and all their friends will love hunting for eggs together and enjoying plenty of springtime treats while they’re at it!

Ready for the details? Let’s hop to it!

1.     Set the Scene

A party calls for decorations, so don’t be shy about the décor! Kids will love a pastel rainbow garland strung up near your front entrance or in the backyard for a quick and festive touch. And speaking of pastels, really lean into those springtime hues. It’s easy to incorporate them into your tablecloths and plasticware or even a balloon arch!

If you want to round out your decorations, fill baskets or bowls with plastic eggs, spray some tall sticks with pastel paint and put them in tall vases, or load up your areas with lots of greenery and springtime florals. These are all easy options that you can make quickly without breaking the bank!

2.     Prepare the Baskets

An Easter Egg Hunt is complete without a fun basket (or bucket) to stash all the eggs! So, make sure each child has a beautiful basket to accompany them. You can easily make these by filling wicker baskets with colorful paper shreds for a fun and timeless look. For an extra touch of pizzazz, add a big mesh bow to the basket’s handle.

3.     Fill and Hide the Eggs

While a classic egg hunt might call for hardboiled eggs, we prefer a more modern approach with plastic eggs filled with prizes. And don’t feel like you just have to stick to chocolate and candy! Get creative and stuff them with small toys, stickers, or even “coupons” to redeem for bigger prizes.

As you hide the eggs, be conscious of any small children who might have trouble finding eggs due to age or height. It can be helpful to assign each child a color of egg to find and hide the eggs according to that child’s searching ability.

4.     Make Some Snacks

An Easter Egg party doesn’t call for a complete Easter dinner, so don’t feel like you have to make a big meal. Stick to fun and easy Easter snacks, like bird nests, deviled eggs, peeps, Easter-themed snack cakes, and mini ham sandwiches. If you have health-conscious families coming, it’s also a good idea to set out a veggie or fruit tray. Top things off with water and pink lemonade, and you’ll be good to go!

And just like that, you’re ready to host an egg-celent Easter Egg Hunt Party! All you have to do is sit back and watch the kids enjoy!
