A Fairy Special Birthday Party!

Is your little one dreaming of a birthday party in fairyland? Then you’re in the right place! We’ll help you transform your ordinary space into a magical land worthy of a fairy princess.
First, decide where you’ll be hosting your party. A backyard or garden is best since fairies and nature go hand in hand. But if that’s not an option (or the weather isn’t cooperating), you can also give your living room a magical makeover with a few extra lights and greenery.
Next, focus on the decorations. A fairy party requires an enchanted feel, and what better way to achieve that than some well-placed lights and glitter?
Unsurprisingly, fairy lights are an ideal way to create a fairytale vibe. String them across the ceiling (or between trees) to mimic stars or dangle them down the walls behind a gauzy cloud of tulle to make them look like specks of magic. You can also stuff strands into mason jars to brighten dark corners or tables with “fairy jars”!
Fairy lights also look absolutely stunning intertwined into the branches of wishing trees. Place some glittery beauties into pots and decorate their branches with lights and butterflies. Be sure to have some ribbon and paper on hand so all the children can write down their wishes and hang them on the trees before they leave!
Whether you’re hosting indoors or want some extra greenery in your yard, weeping willow garlands are an easy way to do so. These look lovely with the fairy lights on a wall, draped along tables, wrapped around other decorations, or hung together to create a secret fairy corner filled with lights and cozy pillows.
Finish off your fairy tale decorations with a few colorful mushrooms made from construction paper (or papier-mache if you’re crafty), magical-looking flowers, and a set of miniature fairy doors on a wall or tree for an extra whimsical touch.
Now it’s time to add some charm to your food and drink tables! Serve fairy cakes (aka, cupcakes with edible glitter) on a fancy treat stand, fill clear glass bottles with colorful drinks labeled with fairy-like names, and create fairy wands with fruit skewers topped with a watermelon star! It’s a spread that will leave your guests feeling absolutely enchanted!
Last, set the scene with a bit of interactive play. Give each child a set of fairy wings (and a wand if you like) so they can flutter around the party. Face painting also goes a long way to help the children embrace their new fairy personas! And if you’re up to the cleanup, a small organza bag filled with glitter or confetti will help their magic come to life.
For even more fun, set up a fairy-themed treasure hunt by hiding a few prizes around your space for the kids to find. Some fun ideas include miniature fairy gardens, unicorn plushies, flower crowns, and butterfly stickers.
Bibbidi-bobbidi-boo—you’ve created an enchanting fairy wonderland for your child’s birthday! She’ll have no trouble falling under the spell of her own personal fairy tale!
